South Florida family, event and portrait photographer
Since 1985.Weddings, b’nai mitzvahs, family portraits, headshots, corporate and school work. Darkroom-trained in Brooklyn, still shooting every job myself. When you hire me, you get me.
I also create caricatures.
A different kind of portrait — caricatures alongside the photography.
Proud to shoot for Make-A-Wish · American Cancer Society · CHAI Lifeline · Sharsheret · JAFCO · Israel Bonds
I started in a Brooklyn darkroom. I’m still the one holding the camera.
Color printer at Sunshine Photo on 13th Avenue. Black-and-white at BLITZ in Manhattan. Then the industry went digital and I came to Florida, but the fundamentals of posing, lighting, and making a portrait never changed.
Big studios send whoever’s free that weekend. You’ll get me — at the portraits, through the ceremony, and at the end of the night when the band is still going.
What clients say
From Yelp, LinkedIn and AlignableJoey G, what can we say… you are amazing! Not only did you capture amazing engagement pictures but you captured the best night of our lives. The pictures are amazing and the video is extraordinary!
I have had Joey G. take photographs for the Mrs., Ms. and Teen Florida U.S. Continental pageant for the past 10 years, and he has provided us with top quality photographs and is a professional in every aspect of his work.
Joey is super talented. He took photos at events and my clients are super pleased with his headshots. I highly recommend his services.
Every job is different. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll quote it.
Hours of coverage, second shooter, albums, pre-event portraits — it all moves the number, so I’d rather talk it through than post a price list.

The questions I actually get asked
Me. Joey G. Every time, since 1985. If a job needs a second shooter I bring someone I’ve worked with for years, but I’m the lead, always, and I’m the one you meet before the day.
Weddings and large events: most people book six to twelve months out, and spring and December weekends go first. Portrait sessions, headshots and school work are easier — a few weeks is usually plenty.
Two camera bodies on me all night, spare flashes, and cards that write two copies at once. Nothing has ever gone unshot.
A hand-picked preview set within a few days, the full edited gallery a few weeks later. Album design after you’ve had time to argue about favorites.
Coordinate, don’t match, and skip loud logos. For beach sessions: soft neutrals, and shoes you don’t mind losing. Ask me before the day and I’ll tell you what works in that light.
All of Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach. Keys, Naples, Orlando and destination work by arrangement — I’ve flown for families before.
Tell me the date. I’ll tell you if I’m free.
